Coaching for Adult Writers

Do you wish to start, continue, or complete a book project? Is it the kind of thing that you’ve tried to set aside but that gnaws at your mind, making you wonder, “What if?”

I have a unique understanding of the challenges of the writing life. As a published author and editor, I know firsthand the push and pull of emotions that can keep us from being the best writers we want to be. I also know that getting over these hurdles is absolutely doable.

Having a writing coach is a great way to jump-start your writing life.

Having a writing coach is akin to having a trainer at a gym. A trainer will help you set up a workout routine and stick to it, monitoring your progress and helping you make adjustments to your routine as you go. A trainer will encourage you and celebrate your milestones.

I operate in much the same way, except that instead of helping your physique, my object is to help you get your writing life in shape.

Here is what you can expect:

  • help in setting and reaching goals
  • editorial feedback, if desired
  • consistent encouragement
  • guidance in how to look for appropriate agents and editors for your work
  • last but not least, someone to laugh with over the rejection slips (we’ve all gotten them!)

Coaching can be done in person, over the phone, or by e-mail, or some combination of all three means.
